Developers of six new small modular reactor (SMR) designs have applied for approval to deploy them as nuclear power plants in the UK. The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is assessing submissions to enter the generic design assessment (GDA) process, reported the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC).
