Letter: Your Leading Article (“The cost of neglecting nuclear power”, May 2) is apposite. By now there should surely be several small modular reactors under construction. Their design avoids many of the problems associated with large nuclear sites. The delay means we are making ourselves increasingly dependent on overseas fossil fuel supplies, with carbon dioxide-emitting tankers being used for transport.
