Plans are under consideration for waste heat from the Sizewell C nuclear power station in Suffolk to be used to heat a new lido. The concept features in the Leiston masterplan, which aims to transform the Suffolk town near to the nuclear site. The masterplan identifies “possible synergies/shared facilities e.g. using waste heat from the plant for a lido at Sizewell”. A spokesperson for Sizewell C has said the company is committed to working with the council.
