1983 clip about the Sizewell B public enquiry
Thanks to Joan Girling for the memories: 1983 Bent Hills intact and Coronation Wood, Also 1st row of tank traps still inplace. Old piles which held the Minsmere Sluice pipes now replaced. Lots of familiar faces at the Jumble sale the young people same age as my oldest son. I was living at Sizewell when they started earth moving around 1986/7. Walter Marshall attended a meeting at Leiston Film Theatre and said there was NO relationship with Nuclear Power generation and Nuclear weapons. No change as truth is still hard to find.

‘It’s Madness’ 1983 ‘It still is!’ 2020
UB40 & Madness joined an impressive cast, including Michael Palin, Terry Jones and The Young Ones, to help raise funds for local campaign group Stop Sizewell B Association. The sell out concert was a great success, Virgin made a video, and huge thanks to Lucy, Rik Mayall Scrapbook – The Diary of a Teenage Comedy Freak. for kindly sending me a copy of the long lost VHS.
A stand out performance from Sir Michael Palin who’s extraordinary sketch predicting ‘Sizewell H’ hits home as we fight EDF’s plans to work their way through the alphabet. It’s funny, it’s brilliant and it’s scarily somewhat true.
here’s a reminder of the night.
TRAFFIC NEWS: What’s in store for Suffolk.
A Day Trip to Hinkley C
In May 2019, TASC members went on a day trip from Frome in Somerset to Hinkley Point C. After a short stop for lunch in Bridgwater we set off for the 12-mile trip to Hinkley. “You will see from the dash-cam footage, we pass miles of traffic, including EDF buses & coaches, aggregate lorries on their way back to the quarries in the Mendip Hills, workers leaving the park & ride, all mixed in with local and holiday traffic. We hoped the backlog of traffic would clear but alas, the 12-mile return trip to Bridgwater took over 2 hours”.
Should Sizewell C get approval and the 5 new roundabouts, planned along a 10 mile stretch of the A12 get built, plus a mainline rail crossing at Darsham, the traffic build up could, at times, well resemble this.
