Nuclear Waste Services (NWS) has awarded Graham Construction a four-year contract to build a 10m thick engineered cap over trenches and vaults at the Low Level Waste Repository (LLWR) in Cumbria. The LLWR is near the village of Brigg, 6km south of Sellafield which stores Europe’s largest stockpile of nuclear and radioactive waste from the nuclear power and weapons industries.
