The defuelling of the first reactor at Hunterston B nuclear power station has been completed as part of the process of decommissioning a generation of Advanced Gas-cooled Reactors (AGRs). AGRs were the second generation of nuclear reactors to be built in the UK – the first being Magnox reactors.
