One of the nuclear reactors at Hartlepool’s power station has been shut down following the discovery of a fault. EDF Energy says Reactor 2 at the plant, on Tees Road, is currently offline in a non planned shutdown. According to the energy giant’s website, the reactor was ‘manually shut down following an electrical system fault.’ Reactor 1 is currently in service and is running as usual.
