An explosive component was “unintentionally damaged” by workers at the Atomic Weapons Establishment’s (AWE’s) Explosive Technology Centre, leading the nuclear regulator to issue an improvement notice. The notice was issued under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, Sections 2(1) and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, Regulation 5(1).
