New research by energy expert DNV estimates that by 2050, AI will support a $1.3 trillion (£982 billion) decrease in clean energy generation costs and reduce grid equipment costs by $188 billion (£142 billion). The Leading a data-driven transition report shows how AI technologies like smart grids, predictive maintenance and real-time data analytics are already taking hold in the energy sector. The report argues that the energy transition is impossible without effective and successful digitalisation.
